Dr. Yujin J. Jung, PhD
I am a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Mount St. Mary's University. My research explores the intersections of populism, political rhetoric, democratic governance, polarization, and extremism in both established and emerging democracies. I examine how political leaders and movements communicate populist messages, and how these messages shape public opinion, democratic attitudes, and institutional trust. Drawing from both quantitative and qualitative approaches, I use text analysis and survey data to investigate the social and ideological foundations of political behavior. My work has been published in peer-reviewed journals such as Social Science Quarterly and the Journal of East Asian Studies. I am also actively engaged in multiple research projects that are currently under review at leading journals in political science. I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Missouri.
